Have you heard the story of the husband who never told his wife that he loved her? After thirty-eight years of marriage when she finally confronted him, he said, “I told you that I loved you the day we were married. I’ll let you know if anything changes.” But as that wife could tell you, that’s not good enough in a personal relationship. And it’s not good enough in our relationship with God either.

There’s something powerful and intimate about the words, “I love you.” And just as we like to hear those three wonderful words spoken to us, God likes to hear us say them to him.

Telling God that we really love him is one of the most important things we can do. It not only pleases him, it reminds us of our commitment to him. Tell him often. In fact, why not tell him right now?
